Permanent Full-Time Position

After graduating from a Bachelor or Practical Nursing program, you will be placed in a permanent full-time position to ensure your career begins with confidence, consistency, and a strong foundation. Graduates can join in a position with our Surgery program, Medicine/Neuroscience, or Seniors Care for their first year.

Graduate and Practical Nurse engagement includes employment opportunities, presentations at educational institutions, personalized virtual one-on-one sessions, speaker series, and first-year employment to support a strong transition into practice.

Nursing Students

If you have completed your first year of an accredited nursing program, you can apply for upcoming Patient Care Attendant (PCA) opportunities for summer employment.

Applications will be reviewed after the posted deadline, after which candidates will be matched to available casual positions within their preferred or defined areas.

Employment through SNAP is available to BScN/BN and Practical Nursing students and grads from any recognized college or university across Canada.

After you submit your application, you will meet with one of our Campus Talent Specialists for a preliminary interview. This conversation helps us learn more about your skills, experience, and career goals, and allows us to discuss how Horizon can support you throughout your first year and beyond.

Once these discussions are complete and a suitable placement has been identified, you will receive a formal offer letter.

At Horizon, your first year is designed to give you confidence, stability, and a strong foundation as you begin your nursing career. After graduating from a Bachelor or Practical Nursing program, you start in a permanent full‑time role to ensure consistency and support. During this first year, graduates are placed in one of three care areas:

Seniors Program
Medicine/Neurosciences
Surgery Program
